Small Business
Coaching

Provides business mentoring for up to 12 months. You’ll be connected to a business mentor who will keep in touch with you to give you guidance,
coaching and other business support, over the course of a year.

If you’re eligible, you can also receive a Self-Employment Allowance for up to 39 weeks and Self-Employment Rental Assistance for up to 26 weeks

You'll be provided with Business Mentoring, support and coaching for up to 52 weeks. You'll need to complete the Small Business Coaching application process prior to commencing Small Business Coaching. 

 

We'll help you develop your business skills and capabilities by:

• helping you to solve problems that arise as you work in and run your business

• assisting you to review the direction and strategy of  your business

• supporting you to mitigate risks as they arise, and

• confirm that you are operating their business in accordance with their Business Plan.

Eligibility

To be eligible to access Self-Employment Services, you must:​

• not be prohibited by law from working in Australia,

• not be an overseas visitor on a working holiday visa or an overseas student studying in Australia,

• not be enrolled in full-time secondary education 

• not be an undischarged bankrupt, and

 

In addition, to be eligible to access Small Business Coaching, you must:

• be at least 18 years of age, at the time of your Small Business Coaching Commencement,

• intend to operate your Business for the Required Hours each week throughout the period of Small Business Coaching,

• have a business or business idea that meets the Business Eligibility Criteria,

• have had a Business Plan approved by Birdifi Bridge in the last 12 months,

• not have received Small Business Coaching in the past 12 months, and

• agree to enter into a Small Business Coaching Agreement with the Department.

 

Further, Birdifi Bridge must be comfortable that you are aware of the Self-Employment Assistance Services available to you, you have made an informed decision that this is the service most applicable to you and that you have the capacity and capability to benefit from this service.

 

Somerset Region Eligibility

To be eligible to receive Self-Employment Assistance from Birdifi Bridge, you must:

• live within the Somerset Employment Region*, or

• have, or propose to have, a business address within the Somerset Employment Region*

 

*the Somerset Employment Region includes the Brisbane CBD, Caboolture and Kilcoy.
